Replacement teeth secured to implants
A fixed full-arch bridge is a full set of replacement teeth supported by implants and secured in place. It is not removable by you. It must be cleaned in the mouth using specific techniques and requires regular professional maintenance.
It is the most involved of the three routes to plan and provide, and is not the right choice for everyone as it depends on having enough bone of suitable quality to support the implants.

How treatment is planned & delivered
Treatment is carefully staged. It begins with a thorough assessment, including three-dimensional imaging, and detailed planning of the position and appearance of the new teeth. The implants are positioned to serve the teeth, rather than the teeth being designed around wherever the implants ended up.
Implant placement may be provided by one of our specialists or another surgical clinician, depending on the case and existing care arrangements. A trial stage is usually included so the fit, function and appearance can be assessed before the final result is completed.
Because treatment requires several stages, including time for the bone to heal around the implants, it commonly extends over many months and in some cases beyond a year. Your team will explain the likely timeframe, the sequence and what to expect at each step, so you know what is involved before you begin.
Long-term care
A full-arch restoration is a prosthesis replacing a set of teeth, and it needs ongoing maintenance on two fronts: the restoration itself, and the tissues that support it. In practice, the prosthetic side is where attention is most often needed: over the years, teeth can chip or wear, the denture can break, screws may occasionally loosen, and parts of the restoration may need repair or, in time, renewal. This is normal for a device that is used every day, and it is why regular monitoring is important.
You will be shown the correct technique for daily cleaning at home. Routine care and checking of the prosthesis, implants, and gums continues with your own dentist as part of your regular visits. A periodic specialist review can be included to check the restoration and its supporting tissues over time and to address any wear, chips or loosening before they become a larger problem.

Patient referrals are always welcome, although they are not required. We work closely with referring dentists and provide care only for the stages requested. Clear reports are provided, and patients return to their general dentist for ongoing care.
